Bio
Jimmy Johnson attended high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied classical guitar with Arron Shearer. In 1993 he became Art Center College of Design's youngest faculty member and taught the Audio for Digital Media courses until 1997. He has released music on Astralwerks, Moonshine, Virgin, Domestic and Fragrant Records. He has collaborated with visual artists for over twenty years, most notably Jennifer Steinkamp. He has composed scores for major film, television and commercial productions. As well, he is currently employed as a researcher by the University of Washington's Psychology Department where he is decoding the developmental calls of bats in Dr. Ellen Covey's auditory neuroscience lab.
